The website blocking feature in the Safari web browser for Mac, iPad, and iPhone comes in handy when you want to block any website for personal and private reasons. You may want to stop your children from accessing some website. You may want to block social media websites because it would distract you from your work and others reasons. Whatever may be the reason, the good thing is you can block websites in Safari browser. In this post, I will be showing you how to block websites or URL in iPhone and iPad.

To block any website in Safari browser for MacBook, iPhones, and iPad, you need to access the Parent Controls settings of your Safari browser. Below are the detailed instructions for each of the Apple product that uses Safari web browser.

Block Websites in Macbook Safari Web Browser

Let’s begin with the computer made by the Apple known as Macbook. If you are using the Macbook, here is how you can restrict anyone from accessing any websites on your Macbook.
Begin with opening the System Preferences window and then go to Parental Controls.

    Tip:
If you have a hard time finding it, search Parental Control using Spotlight.
Next, click the Lock button. If asked, enter your password to log in. Next, go to the Web tab.
Here you have two options. You can either select the “Try to limit access to adult websites automatically” option or manually customize the websites you want to block in Safari on Macbook.

The “Try to limit access to adult websites automatically” option would block all the adult sites by default.

If not, you can customize the preference by inputting each website URL address manually and block it.

If you want to manually block few websites, click Customize and then on the button.
You will see two sections here, “Always allow these websites” and “Never allow these websites.”

Under “Never allow these websites” section, enter the URL of the website that you want to block on your Safari web browser in Macbook.

Once you have added all the URL to the blocking section, click OK to save the changes.

Block Websites in Safari on iPad and iPhone

Now if you are using an iPhone or an iPad, then steps are bit different from the Safari web browser in Macbook. So, here is how to block websites in iPhone and iPad while using the Safari web browser.

On your iPhone or iPad, tap the Settings icon and go to General.
Now scroll down to the bottom of the page and tap on Restrictions.
You will be asked to enter your iPhone/iPad password. Do it.
Tap on Websites and select Limit Adult Content.

Here you can add every URL or website that you want to block manually on your iPhone and iPad.
As you add the website and save it, no one will be able to access these websites using Safari web browser on your iPhone and iPad.

So, add the website under Never Allow section and tap on “Done” to save the changes.
That’s it! You have successfully blocked websites in iPhone and iPad. If you liked this article, do check out more iPhone and Mac related article on our website.
