Facing something went wrong with MS Office? Here we have some Something went wrong error fixes.

The Microsoft Windows 10 comes with the OneNote application preinstalled. Since the application comes preinstalled, some Windows 10 users have reported about facing an error with their OneNote application. The error shows “Sorry, something went wrong. We are unable to sign you in. Please try again later” and it occurs when you try to open the OneNote application.

As the error message indicates, the application has a problem signing you in. Now without fixing this error, you won’t be able to use OneNote app in Windows 10.

The fix for “Sorry, something went wrong. We are unable to sign you in. Please try again later” error in OneNote requires you to uninstall the app first and then reinstall it from the store. As of now, this only seems to be working solution for this problem.

Fix Sorry Something Went Wrong Error with OneNote.

As I said earlier, the only solution to fix “Sorry, something went wrong. We are unable to sign you in. Please try again later” error is to uninstall the OneNote app from your computer and reinstall it. After uninstalling the app, you may also need to clear the Windows Store cache before proceeding to the reinstalltion process. So, let’s see how to do it.

    Step 1: Uninstall Microsoft OneNote

So, we will begin with removing or uninstalling the OneNote app from your Windows 10 PC. To uninstall OneNote you can use the Windows PowerShell tool along with a single line of command.

Open PowerShell. To do this, press “Windows key R“. It will open the Run dialogue box.
In the Run dialogue box type, PowerShell and hit enter.

When the Powershell window opens, copy and paste the following commands and hit enter.
    get-appxpackage *microsoft.office.onenote* | remove-appxpackage
After the command is executed, the OneNote app from your Windows 10 PC should have been uninstalled.

    Step 2: Reinstall OneNote

Now that you have uninstalled the OneNote App, it’s time to reinstall it. You can reinstall the OneNote app from the Windows Store.

Open Windows Store by clicking the Start and selecting “Store”. Once the Windows Store opens, search for OneNote app using the search box. Find and install OneNote App on Windows 10.

After the installation, open OneNote app and you should be able to fix “Sorry, something went wrong. We are unable to sign you in. Please try again later” error.

    Troubleshooting tips:

After uninstalling OneNote, if you go to Windows Store, you may see that OneNote app is showing as already installed even after you have uninstalled it. This is because of the Windows Store cache that is not updated. To fix this issue, you can clear Windows Store cache and reinstall OneNote.

To clear Windows Store cache, click the search box or Cortana box, and type “WSreset”. From the search result, right-click on WSreset and select “Run as Administrator”. If promoted provide permission, click OK.

Now, wait till the Windows Store is reset, and the cache is cleared. Open Windows Store and search for OneNote app. Try installing it without any errors.
