Windows 10 comes with the all-new Action Center. The Action Center shows some quick settings which include Tablet Mode, Connect, Note, All Settings, Battery Saver, Bluetooth, WiFi, Cellular or connectivity settings, VPN and Quite Hours. Apart from these quick settings, the Action Center also shows the apps notifications. If you want to turn off Apps Notifications in Windows 10, here is how to do it. Windows 10 comes with the new Windows Store with the Universal App support. The Windows Store now has more apps than before. Some of the apps that are available on the Windows Store will not be available from anywhere else. For example, the Myntra app for Windows PC can only be downloaded and installed from the Windows Store as the Myntra website is not accessible throw PC. In such cases, when you download any app from the Windows Store it comes with push app notification enabled. When any Windows Store app has push notifications enabled, you will receive apps notifications very frequently if the app is a product related or service offering app. For example, if you download the Myntra app for Windows 10, after the installation the app will keep sending app notifications related to some offers, etc. The apps notifications in Windows 10 can be annoying if the notifications pop-up after every few hours. Since the Windows Store apps will have access to the internet enabled by default, the Notifications will be sent frequently. Fortunately, Microsoft has provided an option to turn off notifications for apps. There are quite a few ways to turn off app notifications in Windows 10. You also have the option to turn off app notification for a specific app or turn off app notifications for all apps at once. If you want, you can also turn off app notifications while doing a presentation. Turn Off App Notifications from Action Center The easiest way to turn off app notifications is to use the action center. Action Center allows you to turn off app notifications for a specific app. If an app is sending too many notifications, then you can open the Action Center and Turn Off notifications for it. Go to your Desktop and click on the Action Center icon at the bottom right of the taskbar. The first section of Action Center shows all the notifications that you have received. Right-click on the app notification and select Turn off notifications for this App. That’s it! You have turned off notifications for that specific app. Action Center method comes in handy if you want to quickly turn off notifications for a specific app. Turn Off Notifications For All Apps If you want to turn off notifications for all the apps at once, then you can do it from the Notifications and Actions Settings page. This comes in handy if you don’t want any app notification to appear for a certain period of time or ever at all. Here is how to do it. Go to All Settings by clicking on Start button or from the Action Center. Under Settings, click and open System. Under System, click Notifications and Actions. Under Notifications section look for Show App Notifications. Toggle the switch to turn off App notifications. That’s it! You have successfully turned off App notifications for all apps in Windows 10. If you want, you can re-enable the notifications by following the same steps. Turn Off Notifications for Specific Apps Now if you don’t want to turn off notifications for all the apps, but only a few specific apps then that is also possible in Windows 10. Follow these steps to know how to turn off app notifications for specific apps. Go to Settings / All Settings by clicking on Start button. Click and open System from Settings. Under System, click on Notifications and Actions. Now scroll down to show notifications from these apps section. Here all the apps installed on your PC will be listed. Find the app for which you want to disable app notifications and toggle the On/Off switch to turn off app notifications. Hide Notifications While Presenting Another handy feature in the Notifications and Actions settings is the option to hide notifications while presenting. Enabling this option will hide or stop notifications from appearing on your screen when you are doing a presentation using PowerPoint or similar apps. It comes in handy if you are in the middle of a presentation, and a sudden app notification can be distracting. To access this option Go to Settings >> System >> Notifications and Actions >> Turn on “Hide notifications while presenting” option.
