Netflix Error Code: M7357-1003

    If you experience the error code M7357-1003 on your computer, it typically points to a component on your browser that needs to be updated or that is being blocked by a security setting or program. Follow the troubleshooting steps below to resolve the issue.
    Steps for Windows

    Update Widevine Content Decryption Module
    Note: Anti-virus and/or firewall software can prevent the Widevine Content Decryption Module from updating successfully. Please disable your anti-virus and/or firewall software before checking for an update. Once the update is complete, you can re-enable your security software.
    1. In the address bar on the Chrome browser, type chrome://components and press Enter or Return on your keyboard.
    2. Locate the Widevine Content Decryption Module component.
    3. Select Check for update.
    4. Once you see Status - Component updated, restart the Chrome browser and try Netflix again.
      • If you do not see Status - Component updated, Chrome may still be running on your computer. To resolve this, restart your computer, then attempt the above steps again.
    Make sure the Widevine Content Decryption Module plug-in is enabled
    1. In the address bar on the Chrome browser, type chrome://plugins and press Enter or Return on your keyboard.
    2. Locate the Widevine Content Decryption Module plug-in and select Enable.
      • If you do not see Enable, check the box next to Always allowed to run.
    3. Once the Widevine Content Decryption Module plug-in is enabled, try Netflix again.
    If the Widevine Content Decryption Module is missing
    If the Widevine Content Decryption Module is not listed under chrome://components, check to make sure you are using Chrome from Google.
    Note: Chromium is not supported.
    Delete the Widevine Content Decryption Module folder
    1. Quit all open Chrome browsers - including this window! You may want to print the following steps.
    2. Press the Windows key and the letter R on your keyboard.
    3. Type %userprofile%/appdata/local in the text field.
    4. Select the Google folder.
    5. Select the Chrome folder.
    6. Select the User Data folder.
    7. Select the Widevine CDM or Widevine Content Decryption Module folder and drag it to the Recycle Bin.
    8. Right click on the Recycle Bin and select Empty Recycle Bin.
    9. Launch the Chrome browser.
    10. Type chrome://components in the address bar and press Enter.
    11. Under the Widevine Content Decryption Module plug-in, select Check for update.
    12. When the update is complete, you will see a message that reads Status - Component updated.
    13. Try Netflix again.
    Create a new browser user profile
    There may be an issue with the data associated with your browser user profile. Follow the steps below to resolve the issue. (Note: Performing this step will remove any bookmarks or passwords that were previously saved on the browser. We recommend backing up your information before proceeding.)
    1. Exit Google Chrome completely - you may want to print the following steps.
    2. Press the Windows Key R to bring up the run dialogue box.
    3. Enter the following and click Ok:
      • On Windows XP: %USERPROFILE%/Local Settings/Application Data/Google/Chrome/User Data
      • On Windows Vista/ Windows 7/ Windows 8/ Windows 10: %LOCALAPPDATA%/Google/Chrome/User Data
    4. Locate the Default folder in the directory window that opens and rename it as "Backup default."
    5. Open Google Chrome and try Netflix again. A new Default folder will be automatically created as you start using the browser.
    Do you have anti-virus software installed?
    Sometimes anti-virus software can interfere with the player Netflix uses to play movies and TV shows.
    • Quit your anti-virus software and play your TV show or movie again.
    • If a TV show or movie resumes after you've quit your anti-virus software, this may indicate that the software is outdated or unintentionally preventing the Netflix service from playing. Please reach out to your anti-virus software manufacturer to address these issues.
    Steps for Mac

    3. Select the Application Support folder.
    4. Select the Google folder.

    6. Locate the WidevineCDM folder.
    7. Drag the WidevineCDM folder to the trash then, right click and select Empty trash.
    8. Launch the Chrome browser.
    9. Type chrome://components in address bar.
    10. Under the WidevineCDM plug-in, click the Check for update button.
    11. When the update is complete, you will see a message that says Status - Component updated.
    12. Once complete, try Netflix again.
