OnePlus 3T is the latest smartphone from the OnePlus. It has been a success so far for the features it offers compared to the price tag. Though OnePlus 3T is a bit expensive compared to the previous version, it still offers good amount of features to make up for it. However, like the all the previous OnePlus devices, the OnePlus 3T too has some common problems. So, in this post, I have collected the best possible fixes for the OnePlus 3T common problems.

Common OnePlus 3T issues include, Battery draining, camera not working, WiFi not working, Bluetooth problem, touch screen issue, Fingerprint scanner issue, Notification vibration issue, NFC icon issue etc.

Note: Most of the time, issues such as Battery draining, camera issue, cellular issues can be fixed with a software update. However, you can try any of these workaround fixes in the meantime.

OnePlus 3T Charger Making Buzz Noise

If you have used the OnePlus 3T charger to charge your OnePlus 3T, you might have noticed a buzz noise that is coming out from the Charger itself. But, you don’t need to panic as it is a normal thing and happens with almost all the OnePlus 3T devices.

    OnePlus 3T Battery Draining Issue

OnePlus 3T comes packed with a 3400 mAh battery and on normal use should last a day and half. However, some users have complained that the OnePlus 3T is draining too fast and abnormally during the day and even at night when the device is not in use.

The problem seems to be being faced by several people, though OnePlus has not acknowledged it as of now. There could be several reasons why the battery of OnePlus 3T is draining so fast. It could be a software glitch that will of course require OnePlus’s intervention followed by a software update to fix it or it can be your own installed apps that are drinking all the juice.

If your OnePlus 3T is running the Oxygen OS 3.5.X, then the problem could be the Oxygen OS itself. The similar kind of problem was reported by the OnePlus 3 users running the same version of Oxygen OS. So, in such situation, you have to wait for the official update with a patch for this problem from OnePlus.

Workarounds: In the meantime here are couple of things you can try to save the battery on your OnePlus 3T smartphone.

At times the reason for the battery draining could one of the third party apps that you have installed on your OnePlus 3T. So, the best way to find the culprit is to make sure is to find if it is a System related problem or Apps related problem.

Boot Into Safe Mode OnePlus 3T:

Begin with booting into Safe Mode. To do this, press and hold the power button until the device shuts down.

Once the device is down, press and hold the Power button until you see the OnePlus logo.
As soon as you see the OnePlus logo, release the Power button and hold the Volume down button.

Once you are in the Safe Boot Mode, you should leave it for a night and see if the battery drains out by the morning. If the battery performance is not affected by this, then you must have a third party app that needs to be uninstalled.

Turn off Auto Sync – Turning off auto sync can save battery life as your device will be using your WiFi or cellular data to keep the device in sync. However, if you are okay with Sync being Off then here is how to do it.

Go to Settings, tap Account. Here, tap the three dots icon at the top and turn off Auto Sync option.

Also turn off WiFi and Bluetooth if not in use. keep your screen brightness to auto as the screen brightness can eat a lot of battery.

Keep a check on the apps that are being heavy on your device’s battery. Go to battery usage section and see if any of the installed apps are taking too much of battery life. Uninstall it or find an alternative.

    Apps Showing Device is Rooted

Some of the OnePlus 3T users are complaining of a new but strange issue that shows them the device is rooted warning while using few apps on their OnePlus 3T.

The problem seems to have affected only a few OnePlus 3T users. The problem seems to be with the app itself as it is highly impossible that your new OnePlus 3T is rooted unless you have rooted it yourself or bought from a unauthorised third party.

What you can do here to make sure that your device is not rooted, download and install the Root Cheker app from the Google Play Store and run the app. If the app shows ” Your device is not properly rooted” means that the phone is unrooted.

Also, contact the app developer notifying of the issue. The developer might take note of the issues and fix it.

    OnePlus 3T Vibration Issue

The Vibration issue in the OnePlus 3T continues as a unaddressed issue. Whenever the user gets a notification, the OnePlus 3T vibrates to notify the users about the Notification. However, at times the Vibration is so bad that the user does not feel it all. This lead to users missing out on important notification (if any).

The issue seems to be a device related issue and may not affect all the OnePlus 3T devices. So, the best you can do here is visit the OnePlus service centre and ask them about the issue.

    OnePlus 3T Volume Issue

OnePlus 3T has good audio in its segment. While mot of the OnePlus 3T users are satisfied with the volume of the phone, some are complaining of low volume when connected to a headphone.
The issue could be with your headphone itself . As some headphones are just under powered and cannot use the full potential of the audio equipment of a device.

You can also try using the Power Amp App that allows you to customise your OnePlus 3T’s audio.

The problem could also be with your device’s hardware. In such situation, you need to visit your OnePlus service centre to get the things done.

OnePlus 3T Google Play Apps Not Working

The OnePlus 3T comes with Google Play service and Google Play Store pre-installed. However, some of the OnePlus 3T users have reported that they newly bought OnePlus 3T is not compatible with the Google Play services.

When you try to open any Google Play app, the phone shows error message saying “Google Play Service error” “Gmail or Google Hangout is having problem with Google Play Service“.

The problem seems to be with the Google Play Service itself. However, there is a easy fix to this problem.

Go to Settings > App and look for Google Plus App. Open the Google Plus app and uninstall it.
Next, go to Settings > Apps and look for Google Play Service. Open Google Play Services, tap three dot icon at the top and select uninstall updates for Google Play Service.
The Google Play Service will update again by itself and that should fix the Google Play Service not working problem in the OnePlus 3T.

If that did not fix the issue, you may need to factory reset your OnePlus 3T. As you probably have a new OnePlus 3T with no data inside it, it is safe to factory reset your OnePlus 3T. You can find the instructions to reset OnePlus 3T at the end of this post.

    Chromecast Screen Mirroring Issue

Google Chromecast is one little handy device that allows you to cast your phone’s screen to your TV. The Chromecast also works with the OnePlus 3T as it as compatible with all the major Android phones.

However, some of the OnePlus 3T users have been complaining of the Chromecast not working with the new OnePlus 3T. The issue seems to be with the mirroring capability of the Chromecast. Some are able to play YouTube streaming, but the mirroring just don’t work.

Rumours are there that this issue is software related problem and will be fixed with the Oxygen OS version built on Android Nougat soon. Do let us know if you have any alternative fix for this problem.

OnePlus 3T Camera Not Working Issue

OnePlus 3T has the best camera among all the OnePlus devices and it can even outperform its competition in the similar price range when it comes to taking quality pictures.

One of the very few unfortunate are unable to capture any photos from their OnePlus 3T as they are unable to save the pictures. Even though the taken picture clearly shows as icon at the top after taking the picture, it does not save it in the gallery.

The Problem seems to be limited to a very few OnePlus 3T devices and there is no go to Fix for this problem.

    Workaround:
    Clear Camera App Cache:
The first thing you should try is to clear the camera app cache. At times, clearing the cache can fix the issue.
Go to Settings, tap on Apps or Application Manager.
Next, scroll and find the Camera app and open it.
From here, click Clear Cache button.
Once the Cache is cleared, click and open the Camera app and see if that works.
Try Third-Party Camera App: If the problem is with your default camera app, you can try any third-party camera app and see if you can take and save the pictures. Google Camera is one of the best Camera app available on Google Play Store.
Factory Reset : If nothing seems working, you can try factory reset. A factory reset might just solve the camera issue in OnePlus 3T. You can see how to factory reset OnePlus 3T at the end of this post.

    OnePlus 3T Heating Issue

Almost all modern day smartphone have big battery stuck inside them so that the users can get a day long usage time and don’t have to worry about charging their phone every now and then.
However, one of the common problem with OnePlus 3T is also related to the battery of the phone. OnePlus 3T users have been complaining of the device getting heated while on charge.
Smartphones getting hot while being on charge is a normal problem these days, however, if it gets unbearably hot, you may consider taking it to the OnePlus 3T service centre for a chat. It could be a battery problem.

It is also recommended that you don’t use your phone while charging. Do look if OnePlus 3T has a new software update as Software updates can fix the heating issue more of the time.

OnePlus 3T Full Length Screenshot Feature Missing

If you have used the OnePlus 3 with the Oxygen OS 3.5.3, you would know that device allowed you to take full length screenshots of your screen. Full length screenshots helps you take screenshot of a full webpage and not just the visible area of a screen.

The full length screenshot taking features seems to be missing in the new OnePlus 3T. The problem seems to be with software of the device or OnePlus deliberately missed the feature to some issues.

If that is the case, you can expect OnePlus 3T to get the feature back in the next update.

    Slower Speed on 4G LTE

Some of the OnePlus 3T users have complained of Slower 4G speed in OnePlus 3T. The problem seems to occur if you are using Dual SIM at a time.

If you are facing same problem then take the secondary SIM out and try to test the speed with the single (primary) SIM inside.

    OnePlus 3T GPS Issue

OnePlus 3T has inbuilt GPS that allows you to navigate without hassle. However, you can face some problem with the GPS being inaccurate at times or just not tracking anything at all.
The problem seems to have affected very few OnePlus 3T users. What you can do fix this problem until OnePlus takes notice of this issue is try to disable LTE / 4G when you are using GPS. This seems to have solved the GPS tracking issue in OnePlus 3T for most of the people.

There are two ways to factory reset OnePlus 3T. Both the methods are listed below. Follow the one that you find is easier to do.
