OnePlus X was the third smartphone to be released by the company. The OnePlus X is a mid-range smartphone that has received appreciation for its premium build and design and mixed reviews for the performance. For the mid-range, the OnePlus X is a reasonable choice and offers good performance for the given price tag. With all the right things, the OnePlus X has some common problems that are annoying to the users. In this article, we will be showing you OnePlus X common problems and Fixes.

OnePlus X common problems and Fixes: The common OnePlus X problems reported by the users are SD card does not get detected issue, Camera issues, problem while playing music and using Facebook or any other app, OnePlus X LTE problem, unable to change user photo issue, USSD code is not showing issue, etc. Most of the OnePlus X common problems are software related issues and can be fixed with a future software update. In the main time, here we have some workaround to fix the common problems in OnePlus X.

OnePlus X common problems and Fixes

As noted above most of the OnePlus X issues are software related issues and is expected to get resolved with a future OS update. So, the first thing you should do is check whether you have any Oxygen OS update pending. If available, update your phone to the latest OS update. If the issues persist, try the fixes given below to fix the OnePlus X issues.

Fix OnePlus X MicroSD Card Problem

The OnePlus X comes with a micro SD card slot though it is a hybrid slot. It allows you to expand your phone storage using a MicroSD card. Some users have reported that their OnePlus X is not recognising the MicroSD card. If your phone cannot detect MicroSD card, then you won’t be able to store or read data from it. It seems to be a common OnePlus X problem and mostly will be fixed with a software update.

However, as a workaround, you can reformat your MicroSD card to NTFS format. Reformatting the MicroSD card to NTFS format seems to fix this issue for most of the users.

To reformat your MicroSD card to NTFS format do the following:

Insert the MicroSD card into an SD card reader or MicroSD card adapter.

Connect the Card reader to your USB port or the card reader port if available.

Your MicroSD card should be detected by the computer. Go to My Computer and right-click on the MicroSD card.

From the given options, select “Format”. It will open the format window.

From the “File System” click on the drop-down menu and select “NTFS”.

Click on Start to start the formatting process. Your MicroSD card should be formatted in few seconds.

Once done, eject the MicroSD card and insert the card back into your OnePlus X. This time, OnePlus X should recognise the MicroSD card.

    OnePlus X LTE Problems

OnePlus X has LTE connectivity for faster data transfer and streaming. However, seems like OnePlus didn’t bother to check the compatibility of the OnePlus X LTE in the US. The OnePlus X is said to be missing the LTE bands 12 and 17, which covers the rural and urban part of the US better than any other band. Since the OnePlus X doesn’t support Band 12 and 17, the US customers certainly will face the problem and poor LTE coverage if it’s based on band 12 and 17. This is a problem with the hardware and doesn’t seem like the company can do anything about it.

    Fix OnePlus X Camera Issues

Blurred Photos and Autofocus Issue – OnePlus X comes with a decent rear and front camera. But, some users have reported the device to have issues while focusing on the object. To address this issue OnePlus X did release an OS update, but that didn’t fix the camera issue completely. So, if you haven’t updated your phone, do it right now. The OnePlus X blur issue should get fixed with a software update.

No Flash Light – If you are not getting flashlight option while taking a picture you have enabled HDR feature. The flashlight option is not available in HDR, Clear Image and Beauty option. So, disable any of those features and you should be able to get the flash working again.

If you still don’t get the flash, then use the Google Camera App. The app seems to work fine with the OnePlus X and show flash option as well.

Fix OnePlus X Vibrating During Phone Call Issue

Some users have reported that their OnePlus X Vibrates during phone calls even if they don’t get any notification. This is a strange issue and may require a software update to resolve it.

As a workaround, disable double tap to wake feature in Gesture settings. Disabling the double tap to wake in OnePlus X seems to fix the vibrating issue during a phone call on the phone.

OnePlus X USSD Code Not Showing Issue

OnePlus X users have reported that the phone does not show any USSD code results. When the user enters any USSD code, the phone does not show any result for it. This is a common problem for the OnePlus X users in India. If you are facing the same error, then you may need to wait for the next update.

Fix OnePlus X Battery Draining Issue

The OnePlus X has the similar kind of issue as of its predecessor. After updating to the latest 2.1.2 OS update, some users have reported that the OnePlus X battery is draining fast.
There is no official fix for the battery draining issues as of now. However, you can roll back to the previous version of the OS until OnePlus resolves this issue. If you are experiencing the poor battery performance without updating to 2.1.2, then you may try updating the OnePlus X to 2.1.2 and see if the battery performance gets improved.

Fix OnePlus X App Permission Issue

Some OnePlus X users have reported a problem with the app permission. The app permission for the apps like WhatsApp, Spotify, Poweramp, etc. is not working. Not all the OnePlus X users are facing the problem, but for those who are facing app permission issue, try the following.
Go to Apps manager and open the app with the problem. Clear the cache data and restart your phone. Now run the app and see if the App permission issue in OnePlus X has been resolved.

    Fix OnePlus X Heating Issue

Some OnePlus X users have also reported about the phone getting warm for no apparent reason. Android phone usually get heated when you play games on it. But, if the phone is getting heated, then you need to resolve it.

The solution for heating issues of OnePlus X seems to be in the latest 2.1.2 update. Users have reported the latest update has resolved the heating issue in the phone post-update.

OnePlus 2 Dual SIM Settings Issue

OnePlus 2 comes with dual SIM functionality and allows you to keep your both the SIMs active. OnePlus X allows to select which SIM to be selected as a primary SIM while making calls. Even after selecting your first SIM as the primary SIM, the phone asks you to select the SIM while making calls. This looks like a software related issue and should be fixed in the next OS update.

Fix Menu Screen Not Appearing Issue

Some users have reported an issue after pressing the menu button or the home button, the Icon for apps list does not appear, or it takes to the recent apps list.

To fix this, enable Google search bar at home and see if the issue has been resolved.
    Thanks Ravi for the Tip.

There are several other minor issues with OnePlus X, and most of them can be fixed with a proper software update. Do let us know if any of these fixes worked for you or if you have any alternative fix for the OnePlus X issues. For more OnePlus X support visit OnePlus X official forum.
