Samsung Galaxy S7 is the latest flagship smartphone release by the Korean Giant. It is beautiful; it is powerful and of course, it is waterproof. Samsung is done with the tonnes of gimmick it used to flaunt with its flagship devices in the past. Now they have become more practical with what they want to sell to the buyers. Living up to the hype Samsung did deliver an excellent device, which would hardly disappoint you. That being said, disappointment is a very subjective word as you can be disappointed with a smartphone for reasons like overheating, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity issues, battery draining issues, etc. If that is the case, there are quite a few Samsung Galaxy S7 problem and fixes for them which you need to know if you are facing any of these problems.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Problems and Fixes

Now before you proceed with any of the fixes listed below in the article, you may want to know that most of these problems could be related to your phone’s software and can be fixed with a quick firmware update. This is the case with most of the newly released smartphones as they come with not so stable firmware. So, make sure that you check for any pending updates in the software update section. In the meantime check out these Samsung Galaxy S7 common problems and fixes for them.

Fix WiFi Not Connecting / Keeps Disconnecting Issue

If you have been facing the WiFi Not connecting issue with Galaxy S7, then you may need to turn off Bluetooth and see if that fixes the issue. Many users have complained that Turning Off Bluetooth in their device has certainly fixed the WiFi not connecting issue. It could also resolve the issue if your WiFi connects but keeps disconnecting.

Other solutions you can try is rebooting / restarting Galaxy S7. Press and hold the Power button and switch off the phone. Restart and see if the issue has been resolved.

Try to forget and reconnect to the WiFi Network. Go to Settings >>WiFi >> tap and hold on the network and select Forget the network. Turn off WiFi, and turn it On again and reconnect to the network by entering the password.

Do not use MAC Address filtering on your WiFi Router, If you are doing so, you may need to turn it off or add your Galaxy S7’s MAC address to the router’s white list.

Also, go to Settings >> WiFi >> More and make sure that Keep WiFi on during sleep is set to always. This could resolve the issue if you have WiFi disconnecting problem.

Reset Network setting from Settings >> Backup and Reset >> Reset Network Settings >> Reset Settings.

    Fix Camera Failed Issue

A few Galaxy S7 users have complained about a rather strange error which pops up when they try to access the camera app. An error “Warning, Camera failed” appears when the camera is being accessed. This seems to be a software glitch which can be fixed with a software update.
An easy fix for this seems to be turning off Smart Stay feature in Galaxy S7. Some users have reported it to create an issue with the Camera app. So, turn off the Smart Stay and see if it resolves the issue.

Restart your phone and see if it is a temporary error. At times, a simple restart can fix annoying issues.

Force stop camera app: If the issue persists, you may want to force close the camera app. Go to Settings >> Applications >> Applications Manager >> find camera app and open it. Tap on Force Stop.

    Fix Slow to Wake Issue

Samsung Galaxy S7 comes with a powerful processor. Hence you would expect to be snappier. However, some users have reported it to be slow while waking up. The problem seems to appear when the users are using Micro SD cards with the phone. To fix it try unmounting the Micro SD card and restart your phone. If the phone performs fine, then you may need to replace your micro SD card. Also, reformat your Micro SD card. Before that, make sure that you create a backup of your personal data. A non-genuine Micro SD card can also cause such issues with the phone.

Restart Galaxy S7: This can also be a temporary issue, and you might be able to fix with the restart.

    Galaxy S7 Overheating Issue

Overheating issue is somehow common among almost all new Android smartphones these days. Mostly the smartphone overheats when you paly graphic intensive video games or resource hungry applications. However, in case, the phone gets overheated when not in use, you should try to find the culprit.

Turn Off fast cable charging: Some users have reported that disabling Fast Cable charging has decreased the overheating problem.

Overheating issues can also be related to your phone’s firmware. In most of the cases, smartphone manufacturers take heating issues seriously and releases the timely updates to their phone’s firmware. So, go to Settings >> About Phone >> Software update. Make sure you update if there are any pending updates available.

If the overheating issue becomes unbearable, kindly contact Samsung support and ask for a replacement as it could be a hardware fault.

    Battery Draining Issue

Samsung Galaxy S7 has better battery life than its predecessor. However, not everyone is happy with what Galaxy S7 has to offer. Some of the Galaxy S7 users have reported that their device battery is draining faster than it should. Though, it is normal for devices to consume more battery power in the initial days as the device will be downloading and installing updates and apps. In case, the battery keeps draining faster even when the device is not downloading any updates or apps; then you may have to troubleshoot your phone.

The first thing you should do is check for possible pending firmware updates that you haven’t checked for. If you have any updates pending, make sure you download the update to your phone. Software updates may have fixes to resolve battery draining issue as well.

Check your third-party app installation. At times, some really cool looking stuff such as third-party charging and battery percentage indicators drains your battery just too fast.
Use Power Saving by going to Settings >> Battery.

Also reduce background data usage for app via Setting > Data usage > Background data.

Consider checking the app that has used the most amount of battery juice. Go to Settings >> Battery > Battery usage and find the app that is draining the battery. If necessary uninstall the app or update it.

Power and Volume Down Button Not Working Issue

The Samsung Galaxy S7 comes with a physical Power and Volume ( up /down) button. However, some of the Galaxy S7 users have reported that Power and Volume Up button become unresponsive at times.

This has been mostly ruled out as a software related problem, most certainly Samsung is working on a fix.

As a workaround try restarting your phone by holding Power and Volume down button simutaniosuly to restart your phone.

Also, go to Settings > About Device >> Software Update and check for any available firmware updates.
